UEFA's cameras came to training and made a film about Buda Juniors

Dads' training - come and train with us!
We've had dads asking why Buda Juniors doesn't run training for parents. So here you go…

Experience what your child is going through, train and have fun. Janos and our other coaches welcome all dads (and mums, if they're brave enough) to come and learn football with the pros. You'll be able to bend it like Beckham quicker than you think! You can have your weekly work-out while playing football with us.

At the moment Thursday evenings from 19.00 to 20.30 are available, but if that doesn't work for you let us know and we can see if other nights are available. If you want to come, then sign up via email to info@budajuniors.hu with some info about your condition and your desires (just a simple kick around or a proper workout/football training).

Christmas Party
Thanks to everyone for coming to our party and sharing some seasonal fun with us. Santa had such a lovely time he promised to come back next year!

Many thanks go to the parents who donated tombola prizes and of course to Marriott Budapest, who provided truly wonderful catering for the event.

We'll put some photos up on the website very soon.

Winter Cup 2009/10 kicks off
Sunday 15th November marked the start of a 5-month long series of matches in 8 age groups for teams to compete in the Winter Cup. For all the info click here.

1000th member signs up to Buda Juniors!
Recently something very special indeed happened in the life of Buda Juniors. Our 1000th member registered!

When we began the club way back in 2001 we imagined reaching this landmark but we weren't 100% sure that we would, especially not so soon! It's thanks to the hard work of our fantastic coaches and staff, as well as the enthusiasm for football shown by all of our members, their parents and our wonderful sponsors that we have teached this point so quickly. Thank you everyone!

We would therefore like to congratulate five-year-old Parker McCausland for being Buda Juniors' 1000th member! And to acknowledge what a special occasion this is, we made a special cake for everyone to enjoy at training.

But of course, this is just the start! We plan to keep going until we reach the 2000th member, then the 5000th, then the 10000th! :) So thanks again for all of your continued support of Buda Juniors.

Wolves come out on top in GL4-2009
Two emphatic victories on the final matchday meant that Wolverhampton Wanderers received gold medals in the Group 4 League, while top scorer Leonard received the Golden Boot. For all the scores, reports and stats click here...

Florian plays at Aston Villa - a Buda Juniors experiences the big time!
Having trained Florian Skene for the past seven seasons, we were delighted when the Aston Villa youth academy invited him to play in an under 17 match in May, after having watched Villa take on Hull in the Premier League. Florian loved the whole trip and he has come back more inspired than ever before to make it as a professional - and we will continue to help him as much as we can. Well done, Florian!

Mixed success for Buda Juniors in Winter Cup 2008/9
The Winter Cup has now come to a close and all the medals have been handed out. In total there were 44 teams playing in 6 age groups on 15 weekends with a total of 312 matches which added up to 112 hours of football! Quite impressive, eh?
Buda Juniors are gold medallists once again! The 1997 team won the fourth and final tournament of the series to end up runaway winners ahead of a three-way tie for second place. The team won 3 of the 4 tournaments and came third in the other.
Meanwhile, two draws and a victory on the last matchday weren't enough for the Buda Juniors 2001 team to claim the bronze medal, finishing their campaign on 20 points in fourth place.
A draw and a defeat on their last matchday the week before meant the Buda Juniors 1996 team also could only manage fourth in their group, with the exact same number of points (20). They won 6, drew 2 and lost 6 of their 14 matches and ended up with a goal difference of minus 4.
The 2000s scored a maximum 12 points on the last day to race up the table from bottom to fifth.
The 1998s finished bottom of the table, unfortunately.
You can find all the results and tables on the 2008/9 Winter Cup page of our match reports section. And you can read match reports from all the Buda Juniors matches by clicking here.

Cardiff honour for Buda Juniors kids
Two of our members were invited to go to Cardiff, Wales to take part in the final presentation of Hungary and Croatia's bid to host Euro 2012. The event took place on Wednesday 18th April 2008 and was attended by the who's who of European football. This is a great honour for the club to be asked to help in this way. Unfortunately our two members, Bence and Nicole, didn't manage to help bring the European Championships to Hungary - the judges picked the bid from Poland and Ukraine instead. Below are some photos from the press conference in Hungary before they jetted off to Cardiff.

Anyone for cricket?
Our coach Andrew Leckonby and our webmaster Andy Grieve are looking for more players for regular matches in Budapest.

Have you ever played? Would you like to? If you are interested, talk to Andrew at training or you can find all the info at www.hungary4cricket.com...

Parental guidelines
We need your help to make sure that coaching so many kids runs smoothly, so please read the following guidelines carefully:

do not let other children or dogs run onto the training area
do not let your children move the cones or goals, as we position them for training purposes
ask a member of the Buda Juniors staff if you want to borrow a ball
play with your other children in another area of the pitch, away from the training
stand well back from the training or match area

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Plans for our own pitch
After six seasons of football, we want to expand the club and move away from Csilleberc (due to their pricing policy and general inflexibility). We are drawing up plans for what we need and we are looking for a piece of land that will suit them. With our own facilities we could hold more training sessions and offer different times to fit in with the busy schedules of our members and their families, as well as secure the future of Buda Juniors.
